Sale
Melchior d'Hondecoeter (1680)
Hondecoeter specialized in these kinds of decorative paintings with all kinds of poultry. This is a gathering of geese and ducks in a landscape in stormy weather. This painting is part of the work with chickens and ducks that is also on display in the Rijksmuseum. Both come from the possession of the family of Orange-Nassau and hung in Oranienstein Castle in Diez, Germany, in the 18th century.
