George Hendrik Breitner (1885 - 1886)

The elite corps of The Yellow Riders drives down the dune at flying speed. Breitner made good use of the black and red headgear and the yellow lisses on the uniforms. The repetition of these colour accents reinforces the dynamics of the movement. The drifting sand of the front horses obscures the view of the next rows. Only black, yellow and red remain.
